Meena Alexander (1951-2018) was an Indian American scholar and poet in the English language. She is famous for her anthologies like Illiterate Heart and Raw Silk. She is known for her poems on dislocation and migration. She is considered one of the best diasporic writers of contemporary literature. She passed away on 21 November 2018 due to cancer.
