Aloysius Paulus "Louis" Maria van Gaal was born on August 8, in Amsterdam. He was raised along with eight siblings. His father was an ordinary man and worked as a salesman. At first Louis played for the Amsterdam amateur side RKSV de Meer. In the he joined to the second Ajax team. He spent about four years by playing in Belgium. Afterwards he returned to native Netherland. He becomes a member of Eredivisie and made his debut as manager for SC Telstar team. In the he became assistant coach for Alkmaar Zaanstreek Club. His career on this position was pretty short and later in the he enrolled to Ajax again but at this time he became a manager after Leo Beenhakker left.
